Day 1 of 5
Arusha to Tarangire - Family Safari Begins
Your family adventure begins with a morning pickup from your Arusha hotel. Your family-friendly guide will welcome you and explain what to expect over the next 5 days. Kids receive a special safari activity pack with binoculars, wildlife checklist, and coloring book.
Drive south to Tarangire National Park, approximately 2 hours through the beautiful Tanzanian countryside. The drive is broken into manageable segments with comfort breaks for kids.
Tarangire is famous for its massive elephant herds - some of the largest in Africa. Watch families of elephants bathing, playing, and interacting - kids love watching baby elephants! The ancient baobab trees create a magical landscape.
Afternoon game drive spotting lions, giraffes, zebras, and over 500 bird species. Your guide will engage kids with fun facts about each animal.
Arrive at your family lodge before dark. Welcome dinner and campfire storytelling. Kids learn about the animals they will see tomorrow.

Tarangire to Serengeti - Adventure Continues
Morning game drive in Tarangire as you exit the park. Search for any wildlife you may have missed.
Drive north through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area towards the Serengeti. Stop at the crater rim for spectacular views - kids will be amazed by the view into the world's largest volcanic caldera.
Enter the Serengeti and begin your game drive on the vast plains. The Serengeti is home to the Big Five and incredible birdlife.
Arrive at your family lodge in the central Serengeti. Evening: Campfire dinner with bush stories. Kids receive safari certificates for their wildlife sightings.

Day 3 of 5
Full Day Serengeti - Wildlife Discovery
Morning game drive when animals are most active. Search for the Big Five - lions, elephants, buffalo, leopards, and rhinos. Your guide will teach kids how to identify different animals and their tracks.
Mid-morning break at a scenic spot for snacks and drinks. Kids can stretch their legs and explore safely with the guide.
Continue game drive focusing on kid-friendly wildlife:
- Elephants bathing in rivers
- Giraffes eating from acacia trees
- Zebras and wildebeest herds
- Hippos wallowing in pools
- Monkeys and baboons
Afternoon: Bush walk near the lodge (safe, guided nature walk). Kids learn about plants, insects, and smaller animals. Nature scavenger hunt activity.

Serengeti to Ngorongoro - Crater Adventure
Morning game drive as you depart the Serengeti. One last chance to spot any wildlife.
Drive to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Stop at the crater rim for breathtaking views. Kids will be amazed by the view into the volcanic caldera.
Descend into the Ngorongoro Crater for a game drive. The crater floor is home to approximately 25,000 animals, including the rare black rhino. The compact size of the crater means you can see a lot of wildlife in a short time.
Kids will love seeing:
- Lion prides resting on the crater floor
- Flamingos at the alkaline Magadi Lake
- Hippos at the Hippo Pool
- Zebras and wildebeest grazing
Ascend the crater wall as the sun sets. Arrive at your family lodge on the crater rim.

Ngorongoro to Arusha - Farewell Adventure
Optional early morning crater drive for sunrise photography.
Return to your lodge for breakfast with crater views. Visit a Maasai village for a cultural experience (optional). Kids learn about Maasai traditions, try traditional dances, and see how Maasai children live.
Drive back to Arusha through the Great Rift Valley with stunning views. Stop at viewpoints for family photos.
Arrive in Arusha in the late afternoon. Farewell lunch at a local restaurant. Farewell ceremony where kids receive their completed safari certificates and small souvenirs.
Transfer to your hotel or airport. Your family leaves with incredible memories of your Tanzania adventure.
