Arusha to Serengeti - Into the Migration Zone

Your migration safari begins with an early morning pickup from your Arusha hotel at 6:00 AM. Meet your expert migration guide who will explain what to expect over the next 3 days. Drive through the spectacular Ngorongoro Conservation Area with stops at viewpoints. Enter the Serengeti through the Naabi Hill Gate and begin your game drive immediately. Your guide will radio other safari vehicles to locate the current position of the migration herds. Depending on the season, you may encounter: - Calving season (Jan-Mar): Thousands of newborn wildebeest in the southern plains - Migration (Apr-Jun): Massive herds moving north through the central Serengeti - River crossings (Jul-Oct): Dramatic crossings at the Mara River - Return (Nov-Dec): Herds moving back to the southern plains Afternoon game drive through the migration zone. Watch thousands of wildebeest and zebras stretching to the horizon. Predators are never far behind - lions, cheetahs, and hyenas follow the herds. Arrive at your campsite as the sun sets. Full Day Migration - Nature's Greatest Show

Wake up early for the best migration viewing. The early morning light creates magical conditions for photography. Full day exploring the migration zone. Your guide will take you to the best locations based on recent sightings and the movement of the herds. Morning: Watch the herds as they wake up and begin moving. Wildebeest move in columns that can stretch for kilometers. The sound of thousands of hooves is incredible. Midday: Search for predator action. The migration attracts large numbers of lions, cheetahs, and hyenas. Watch for hunting behavior - the Serengeti is one of the best places in Africa to see predators in action. Afternoon: If visiting during river crossing season (July-October), head to the Mara River. Watch as thousands of wildebeest brave the crocodile-infested waters. The crossings are one of nature's most dramatic spectacles. Evening: Return to camp for dinner. Share your migration experiences around the campfire.

Serengeti to Arusha - Final Migration Views

Early morning game drive for final migration viewing. This is often the best time for photography as the light is soft and golden. Your guide will take you to any areas you may have missed. The migration is constantly moving, so there are always new opportunities for wildlife viewing. Watch for: - Wildebeest river crossings (if not seen yesterday) - Lion prides hunting in the herds - Cheetahs chasing on the open plains - Vultures circling indicating kills nearby After breakfast, begin your journey back to Arusha. Game drive en route to the park exit. Stop at Olduvai Gorge viewpoint (optional). Continue through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area with stunning views. Arrive in Arusha in the late afternoon. Farewell lunch and transfer to your hotel or airport.
