Fly from Arusha to Lake Manyara - Quick Arrival
Your fly-in safari begins with an early morning pickup from your Arusha hotel. Transfer to Arusha Airport for your scenic flight to the Lake Manyara airstrip.
The flight takes approximately 30 minutes, offering spectacular aerial views of the Great Rift Valley escarpment and the vast plains below. Watch for the shimmering Lake Manyara as you approach - the alkaline lake is visible from the air with its pink flamingo flocks.
Upon landing at the Lake Manyara airstrip, your safari guide will be waiting with your 4x4 vehicle. Begin your game drive immediately at Lake Manyara National Park.
Lake Manyara is a compact park with incredible diversity. The park is famous for its tree-climbing lions - one of only two places in Africa where lions regularly climb trees. Look for these magnificent cats resting in the branches of acacia trees.
The park is also home to large elephant herds, hippos, and thousands of flamingos along the alkaline lake shores. The lush groundwater forest is home to baboons, blue monkeys, and incredible birdlife.
Afternoon game drive through the park. Arrive at your lodge as the sun sets. Dinner with views of the Great Rift Valley.

Day 2 of 4
Lake Manyara to Ngorongoro - Crater Views
Morning game drive in Lake Manyara for any wildlife you may have missed. The early morning light is perfect for photography and this is often the best time to spot the tree-climbing lions.
After breakfast, drive to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, approximately 1 hour drive. As you ascend the crater rim, the landscape changes dramatically from lush forest to open grasslands.
Stop at the main viewpoint for your first breathtaking look into the world's largest intact volcanic caldera - the Ngorongoro Crater. The view is spectacular - the crater floor stretches 20 kilometers across with grasslands, forests, and the shimmering Magadi Lake visible below.
Afternoon: Explore the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Visit a Maasai village (optional) to learn about the traditional lifestyle of the Maasai people who live within the conservation area.
Arrive at your luxury lodge on the crater rim. Enjoy dinner with stunning views of the crater below. The stars above Ngorongoro are spectacular.

Ngorongoro Crater - Big Five Safari
Wake up early for the highlight of your safari - a full day game drive in the Ngorongoro Crater.
Descend 600 meters into the crater floor. The Ngorongoro Crater is home to approximately 25,000 large animals, making it one of the most densely populated wildlife areas on Earth.
Wildlife to spot:
- The Big Five: Lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo, and black rhino
- Lion prides: One of the highest densities of lions in Africa
- Black rhinos: One of the best places in Tanzania to see these rare animals

Ngorongoro to Arusha - Farewell & Fly Back
Optional early morning crater drive for sunrise photography. The early morning light on the crater floor is spectacular, and this is often the best time to spot predators like leopards and cheetahs.
Return to your lodge for a leisurely breakfast with crater views. Pack up and transfer to the Lake Manyara airstrip for your return flight to Arusha.
