The Hadzabe People

The Hadzabe (also called Hadza) are an indigenous ethnic group living near Lake Eyasi in northern Tanzania. They are one of the last remaining hunter-gatherer tribes in Africa, with a population of approximately 1,000-1,300 people. Unlike many other indigenous groups, the Hadzabe have largely maintained their traditional lifestyle, resisting modernization and living in harmony with nature.

Their language, Hadzane, is a click language unrelated to any other known language. During your visit, you will learn about their unique culture, join them on hunts, and gain insight into a way of life that has existed for millennia.
