Zanzibar Island
Pristine beaches, historic Stone Town and spice island culture.
Why Zanzibar Island is Special
Zanzibar is a tropical archipelago off the coast of Tanzania, renowned for its pristine white-sand beaches, turquoise waters, and the historic Stone Town — a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The island blends African, Arab, Indian, and European influences into a unique cultural tapestry.
Beyond its beaches, Zanzibar is the Spice Island, famous for cloves, vanilla, cinnamon, and pepper. Visitors can explore spice plantations, dive on pristine coral reefs, sail on traditional dhow boats, and wander through the labyrinthine alleys of Stone Town.

Best Time to Visit Zanzibar Island
🔥 Peak Season: Jun – Oct
The dry season offers the best wildlife viewing. Animals gather around water sources, vegetation thins out making them easier to spot. This is prime time for the Great Migration (Serengeti) and river crossings. Expect clear skies and the highest visitor numbers. Book 3–6 months in advance.
🐯 Calving Season: Jan – Mar
The southern Serengeti and highlands come alive with newborn wildebeest calves. Predator activity is intense as lions, cheetahs, and hyenas hunt. Lush green landscapes create stunning photography. Fewer tourists and excellent lodge availability. A hidden gem for safari enthusiasts.
🌿 Green Season: Apr – May & Nov – Dec
The wet season brings dramatic skies, lush landscapes, and fewer visitors. Birdwatching is exceptional with migratory species. Some roads may be challenging, but fly-in safaris remain unaffected. Best value for budget-conscious travellers.
