🔥 Peak Season: Jun – Oct
The dry season offers the best wildlife viewing. Animals gather around water sources, vegetation thins out making them easier to spot. This is prime time for the Great Migration (Serengeti) and river crossings. Expect clear skies and the highest visitor numbers. Book 3–6 months in advance.
🐯 Calving Season: Jan – Mar

Mto wa Mbu is located at the base of the Rift Valley escarpment, approximately 120 kilometres (2 hours) from Arusha on the main road to Ngorongoro. It's perfectly positioned as a stop between Arusha and the northern circuit parks. Most visitors combine a half-day cultural tour with a game drive at Lake Manyara.
